Does anyone have a picture of their carbs, sans air filters, that show a frontal view? I sure could use it to check linkage and fittings.

Thanks, Tinkerman

I hope these photos don't tick off too many folks
but it seems you can use them.

I hope these photos help you a bit

Hi Dale, thanks for the pics. Unfortunatly I need pics of the SU H6 and the ones you posted are for the Stromberg carbs. Appreciate you posting them, they sure are purdy.

Thanks, Tinkerman

Dick,

If you are looking for HS6's or HS8's which differ from the ZS-CD's that come stock, Shannon has made the switch and I'm sure that he can help you too.

Tinkerman,

Here is a pic of my HS8's it may be close depending on where you're fuel bowls are. I'm using the RATCO linkage also.

Not sure if these will help, but all I have on the PC just now. If there is anything in particular that you are needing a picture of, I could be persuaded to go out to the garage with my camera!

Dick - the best picture of the H6 setup I've seen is in the operator's manual - believe it or not.

I'll scout around for mine. I also think I posted it here about a year ago ...

Just a sec ...

Tom

Well Shannon, now I can see why yours could be louder at WOT with the HS8's than the tri ZS.

What size diameter are those throttle ports? Nice air filters too. (on your other thread, that is!)

OK - that pic is on p. 35 of the "practical hints" manual. Let me know if you need a scan of it and I'll post it here.

The picture is taken from slightly below the carbs, looking toward the block. Good view of the choke linkage setup if that's helpful.

Tom

Here you go - hope the resolution is good enough for you.
PS - I emailed you a much better pic. Forum wouldn't allow that large file to be posted here.

Somebody will likely chime in a lot better on this, but I seem to recall that the choke connection is a little tricky and non-intuitive to get just right. If I dig up the facts to back up that faulty memory I'll chime back in.

Also, I have a complete/original H6 setup on a manifold in unmolested condition if you need more pictures - choke hookup/final throttle hookup is not present though.

WHOA BIG time air flow.

You did have the manifold ports opened up / modified? Who did the work?

Jeff Palya did the work. He sold me the carbs and found a late model intake to bore out. He also included a modified linkage which worked ok, but I installed the Ratco kit and a set of Rover 2000 throttle return spring retainers along with the choke setup.

Shannon- GET that camera down at throat level and take a mess of photos for me. One of these days I will need to get my SU 6's hooked up.

I'm going to use a set of H6S's and a (longer) intake I got off ebay on my TR3. The linkage had to be converted to "pull from center" instead of "pull from front". I had to grind a little off of this TR6 throttle linkage (near the bolt hole to allow full throttle), but otherwise it looks like it will work.
