This car won't be used except for fun on nice days. It will be garaged. A paint that will look great and stands up and doesn't fade quickly is desired.

Base/clear is your best bet for the long haul. The Clear is actually the best protection against fade if it is high solids.The high solids in a single stage will resist fading but even a light scratch can show off the great looking primer underneath. I plowed the clear on(had some runs to shave and sand) and I may have to go to a Ford 289 to haul that much gloss around, but it looks great.

Don,t count your chickens...unless my son-in-law helps out, a lot, Its going to be put back together by a carpenter, and may end up looking like a corner cabinet.

Thanx the paint scheme was the wife's design. we printed a bunch of side & nose shots of someone's white GT6 from the web, and used that as a canvas to experiment on for stripes and such.
