Wazzup with those crazy "holes" on either side of the grille? Seems like a decent price for an MGA but after looking at the engine bay, might be a DPO mess!

If you think those holes are bad, look at the blue carpet & the Fiero seats - its a DPO mess; however, if its solid......

No, the best is the overspray on the tailpipe. Tony, I'd stop bidding soon if I were you. That car is full of bondo. See how there's supposed to be piping in between the fenders and the main tub? Its not there, been filled in! Also, maybe its just my eyes, but I think that the valve cover is on the correct way. Oil filler to the front right?

At least the turnsignals aren't on backwards. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Good catch James, the seams have definitely been filled! If you click on the link with extra photos, you can also see he's been pretty creative with the spray paint! Yikes!

Oh yeah, no front overriders, no door panels, stuff that should be covered is bare wood, no air cleaners, black wheels, the license plate thing is supposed to be above the bumper and not on it, and I'm not sure (haven't dug out my Clausager's MGA yet), but I think the rear overriders are on backwards.

The valve cover must be an incorrect model. The oil filler is forward yet the breather line is on the rear and pointing away form the air filters. This is how it should be...

It said it has a 'B engine didn't it? Wouldn't any one of the 'B valve covers be correct then? It looks sorta like a late model 'B valve cover to me.

Well, it has an inverted filter so it's definately a later MGB engine. However the proper way to do an 1800 transplant is to use the MGA intake, carbs and filters. The white engine bay above is an MGB 1800 engine with MGA carbs/filters. It uses an early (62-64) MGB valve cover which is basically the same as the MGA cover.

What I found interesting is it looks like it has an MGB lower A frame with sway bar but with drum brakes. I know someone local who did the no piping thing and filled in the seams, some of the old 100/4 Healey's did this too for the "Cobra" look. Steve, exception to the proper 1800 transplant, I will be using HIF's on mine. Much better carb than the MGA...

James - you hit the nail on the head with this one! Just got this email from the seller

Hi,
There is no welding where the fenders meet the body, they have been smoothed.

He also said it keeps coming back to eBay because it never meets his reserve.
