Making Progress

yeah.... numb digits. We're havin' 'winter' early here.

What, under 70 degrees you get fuzzy Doc? LOL.

Was kind of funny - we did an outdoor hot chocolate / homemade cookie party here and everyone was complaining that it was sooooo cold. It was 50 out! Oh man, I have to toughen up the kids.

YuP!

68* is about my lower limit. I get ~crabby~ then.

50 is life-threat. :smirk:

Hi Guys,

Progress update.

Things are moving along nicely. Just about finished running the brake/fuel lines. Most things back on the engine except for the generator and spin on oil filter adaptor.I pulled the header off to wrap it and will install it again once I pick up the wrap. Still waiting to torque the steering rack down and am still waiting on the rod end. Sat the radiator in place and it fits perfectly and looks good. Too bad you can only see the neck once the apron is on.

Disregard the old lower rad hose....just there to check the fit.....I do have all new hoses.

Cheers,
M. Pied Lourd

lol @ 32 ford! Thats the rad not the grill!

I wish I had a 32 Ford...

Hi Don,

Generator is on the bench at the moment.

I was thinking of doing an alternator conversion but I think that I have decided against that for the moment. I have three good generators to pick from so I think that I will get the car up and running before I decide if I want to swap. Getting the generator back on the car will be one of this weeks projects. It certainly has been nice these past few days working out in the garage as it has not been so cold.

Cheers,
Dave

Dave, aka M Pied Lourd, aka Tush, aka wrench extraordinaire from the great North;

One of us could just happen to swing by and "accidentally" tip over the work bench where the generators are stored so they are all damaged to a point where you have to get an alternator?

I have triple redundancy built in....one is on the bench, one is in the garden shed and one is in the basement....you see, there is method and reasoning behind my parts storage madness!

Cheers,
M. Pied Lourd

Dave, Very nice work!!
It is funny how that when we replace something it is never thrown out. "just in case" "They don't make this anymore" etc... I now have two steering box's two hood bows, etc. etc. etc.....

Did a bit more over the weekend...

Generator cleaned/painted/installed.

Did a few other things. Installed the clutch slave/flywheel inspection cover, lower rad hose, heater valve/pipe etc.

Recieved my missing steering rack end link so will be installing that in the next few days.

Cheers,
M. Pied Lourd

Hey Skip,

I took the pulley and fan off. Took the back off and checked/cleaned the magnets and connections etc and blew some compressed air in there to get all the dust and debris out.

I used my dremel with a buffing pad and compound to do the rear and front aluminum casing bits and then taped them off. I used eastwood underhood black for the casing and the fan. I used eastwood spray grey for the pulley as I wanted the waterpump/generator/thermostat housing to match (Yes I know it's not the correct colour but I am doing what I like and this will never be a concourse car with the life it's had).

Cheers,
M. Pied Lourd
