TR2/3/3A Looking for 1954 TR2 engine

I'm wondering if my TR2s original engine is still out there. It is TS1171E and was removed from the car around 1980. Previous owners lived in New Mexico and California.

vicno, Best of luck in finding your engine. I'm missing the block from mine. I have the head, but I'll wind up using one of the other 2 engines I have for my 54 TR2. Mine is a bit later than yours at TS5012LO, and will probably not end up being %100 stock. I plan on using TR4A disc brakes, a later engine and tranny, it already has a later TR3 rear axle and I just can't go with the original "Geranium" paint. I'm leaning twards a dark red/burgandy. Like the early Ferraris or Alfas. and a medium brown interior..
My car's on a super shoe-string budget, and I'm not a big concourse guy anyway.
Lou, was your car at Watkins Glen this year? over in the Concourse area on Friday? I think I got to talk to you, but I'm not sure.

I think that there may be more people that try to stay closer to stock with the early long door cars than the later ones, but that's just a guess.

Think I still have a low port head kicking around somewhere. The TR-2 engine was a good runner and would pull to 5500 RPM very willingly for me.

TS979 is a new TR2 number to me. Be sure to register it with Bill Lynn triumphtr2@aol.com Bill has become the TR2 registrar for all of us. I am sure that our cars share the same birthdate of March 24, 1954 and surely they shared the same boat during the trip to the US. We need to get them together next summer for a reunion.

To my knowledge, there are only three Ice Blue TR2 Long Doors in the US. John Aumont's TS646 in California, Jeff Kelley's TS778 in Michigan and mine. I was not at Watkins Glen so it must have been Jeff. Except for the wire wheels Jeff's car is identical to mine.

I believe the other Ice blue TR2 belongs to John Malnick in Connecticut TS604L. The actual colour is in a different shade of blue than your car.
