La Carrera Panamericana is on tomorrow.

Even if you don't follow it, check out the nutty combination of cars that run this event. They seem to have the market cornered on old, racing Studebakers as well as PV Volvos, old ALFA sedans, ancient, flathead Mercurys, Falcons, old Benzs and various Brit cars.

~Click Here~ to see who's running and with what car.

Some neat cars, but it can be hard on them too (see below).

Your right, this race destroys cars. I know a few people who've run it and they always build a fresh car that's toast afterwards.

If you missed the GT Racer Series 2 on the La Carrera Panamerina it was great. Race all day and party all night...............I don't know if I could last 1 day let alone 5.

I was building a MGB GT for this race for a customer a few years back, his money ran out, we sold the car off in project form. I think he was dreaming, he was going to drive the car there, 1800 miles, drive the race 2000 miles, and drive home 1800 miles, I know I laughed too :smile:Here's a few pictures of it. This is high buck race, because you need a truck and trailer chase you on the route for a week, with spare parts, the entry is about $5K, fiquire you need about 50K to half hearted. Then to top that off you have to deal with themexicans on ever changing rules. They do most timed road rally, witha speed stage included a couple of time a day, on blocked off roads.
