I have certainly enjoyed the exploits of everyone's driving season
in the States and abroad, while my TR6 lay dead on jackstands
these past 6 months.. My car is now more or less functional and
it is now the beginning of the old car
driving season in the tropics.
I hope to be able to share some driving exploits, while other's
cars are snow-bound. I am planning an enduro run for the Crypt
Car that puts even my boulder bouncer Wrangler to the test.
An 8 to 10 hour, cross island, mountain back road trail adventure.
Rain forest & palm tree north, across steep, twisty, switchback
after switchback, rugged mountains to the
desert, cactus and sage brush south coast. Then back across the
mountain spine again via 4-lane and home.
The majority of this trip is outside cell phone reach.
I will have to make emergency breakdown repairs, on my own,
with no AAA to rescue my. I'll bring a GPS but w/out cell
phone it is useless.
Here's my planned route- I'll take many photos. Oh Yeah!
Any BCF TR mechanics that wish to attempt this ride are welcome.
The Mrs says "No way. Ain'y gonne be me!"
I am now building my spare parts and roving tool shop.
My all volunteer pit crew met last night at a beach party
to discuss the project.
