I have a question about H6 carbs I like put on my BN1. As the car had HS6 carbs on I like to change them by H6 carbs. The HS6 carburetors are to young for the BN1 on which a "modification M kit" is installed.
As it was impossible to find the H6 for the Austin-Healey I understood that it is possible to start with H6 carburetors of a TR3.
I know that you need AUC3496 (20° left) floating chambers instead of the AUC3495 (20°right) floating chambers.
For the BN1 the float chamber is in front of the front carburetor body and also for the back carburetor the float chamber is in front of the carburetor, compared with the cabs for the TR3 the float chamber of the front carburetor is in front and for the back carbs it is after the carburetor body..... So TR3 has 2 right AUC3495 right carburetors, MGA has an AUC3495 and an AUC3496, so right and left floating chambers.
I hope this is clear?
I know that also needles are different and the fast idle cam is mounted on the front carburetor, this instead of on the TR3 it is on the back carburetor .
Are there other differences and things to change?
My mother language is not English so perhaps the explanation is not always clear, sorry for that.
Kind regards,
Ivo
