I just sent a message to Badboy Mowers about them not lubricating the threads on their blade bolts when assembling a new mower. They put the bolts in dry at the factory and it doesn't take long for them to rust and seize up. It takes a strong impact to initially break them loose if you're lucky! The new Maverick model I bought, around 8K, the bolts are frozen so bad I have to take the mower to a tractor dealer tomorrow and have them use an impact wrench they use on tractors to break these bolts loose! On the first mower after breaking the bolts loose, I coated the bolts with Anti-seize and never had a problem since. They are great mowers, built to take a lot of abuse, but they are lax about putting bolts in without some type of lube! This is only on the first blade change. So, if you buy a BadBoy mower, take the blades off before using it, and coat the threads with Anti-seize first, then you are good to go from there on! PJ
