Ah yes, pics of the AJS revive memories of my 46.. Ex military bike, so only big difference was the braces on the frame for the sidecar(which I did not have)..


Burman gearbox, Amal(tickle me before startup) carburetor) compression release.. Kicked back enough to put you over the handlebars, until you learned the procedure to bring it up on compression before kicking down and exactly when to "release" the compression...

Interesting ride...

I love those vintage Brit bikes. But, having ridden a few, I can tell you that they are powerful, and have VERY bad brakes (compared to modern bikes).

A friend of mine has a '63 750 Norton. I ride it VERY slowly, and very carefully.

Nothin' like good brakes on a bike . . . :yesnod:
