Recommendation for quality and price?
Where does "Moss" source their's from?
From what I can gather so far..Bastuck in Germany is the best source.

You actually have a choice of ratios as well as suppliers. Of course there is the 4.1 and 3.7 ratios as well as the 3.45 ratio that was used in the TR250. I have been using the 3.45 now for many years and like them a lot. But then I do a lot of very open highway and freeway driving. They are not worth the price to just change out a gear set. But if one needs a new set these are really good.
When I got mine I got them from TRF. They came from Italy. I understand that the other option is from Germany but one has to do some drilling to get them to fit. The ones that I got from TRF did not require any drilling or modifications. Of course one does have to recalibrate the speedometer with the gear ratio change.

"Charley"...please explain..."some drilling to get them to fit"
I do not have direct experience with the German units . I understood that the bolts holding the ring gear onto the carrier were drilled smaller than on the carrier. This was referenced to the 3.45 ratio gear set. I do not know about the other ratio sets. Best to check with any supplier you use.

I installed a Bastuck 3.7 ratio in my 3A a year ago, and it was a perfect fit with no drilling required. I think it's the same part for a 4A (correct me if I'm wrong). I purchased from BPNW because at the time it was much cheaper than the same Bastuck part from TRF. Neither vendor mentioned anything about an Italian part, but maybe that's just for the 3.45 ratio, of which I have no knowledge.
