What kind of truck is this?

I'm thinking 40's vintage Milk Delivery Truck /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Hmmm.... I guess that winch would come in handy while deliverin' milk...

Dodge M37, but with a strange fiberglass nose.

Civilian versions were called "Powerwagon". They are 3/4 ton rated. Slowest thing I ever drove, but you'll never stop one, so matter how steep the incline.

This is a similar vehicle to the Army ambulances you'd see in the "Mash" television show.

I was going to suggest a Dodge with a different nose. Certainly the grille is gone. The rear bodywork was a giveaway. These were used as ambulances, but I don't think that ambulances had a winch on the front end. Could have been a radio truck or even a command vehicle.

But that front fiberglass nose doesn't exactly go with it.
