TR6 TR6 Front Hood Seal

There is a seal that fits above the front grille, and seals to the underside of the hood at the front of the car. I can't figure out which way up it should go: there are two possible orientations. Can anyone advise? Better still, a closeup photo would be great!

The seal looks like this in x-section:

The groove fits over the front lip of the grille surround. But which way up does the seal go? As shown above, or inverted?
 
Hold it upright like an h .... use the bottom of that "h" to clip on to the top of the valance sheet metal, the lip of the seal should face forward. am i missing something here? seems fairly simple to me. I'll see if I can get a pic of it today.
