Howdy all! it's been a loooong time since my last post. The good news is that I'm finally retired and have more time to tinker.
I'm trying to deal with what feels like excessive travel/play in my TR250's clutch. I'm going to replace the clutch slave and add an adjustable rod. I've read the Bentley's and also the instructions Moss put out for installing an adjustable rod. However, for whatever reason, my mind never quite clicks with technical manuals. In a nutshell, is this the process?
1. Install the slave cylinder without the rod.
2. Remove the clevis from the end of the adjustable rod. Position the clevis on the middle hole of the actuating lever, and add the pin.
3. Take the rod and push it into the slave cylinder, pushing it as far as it will go.
4. Thread the rod into the end of the clevis with the rod pushed in to its maximum. This will result in zero play.
5. Back off the rod from the zero play position by rotating the rod further into the clevis by approximately .30"
6. Tighten the retaining nut on the rod.
Do I have that right?
Thanks in advance!
