TR2/3/3A TR-3B Oil Filler Cap

Hi,

I have a 1962 TR-3B with the stock chrome valve cover and stock black oil filler cap towards the firewall.

I ordered a set of LeMans aluminum valve cover fastiners and the one next to the oil filler cap will not go on due to rubbing the side of the oil filler cap. The cap is too big.

Does anyone know where I can get a smaller chrome oil filler cap so I can use the LeMans fasteners?

Thanks.

Paul

I have spare older painted cap, measures 3 1/2". Probably same thing as yours.

Richard,

Thanks. My cap measures the same. I guess I'll end up sending the LeMans fasteners back to Moss. My engine compartment is nicely restored and detailed and I was just trying to add a few more nice touches to it.

Paul Rego posted about these from Joe Alexander and ARE Racing a couple weeks ago. I wonder if this is where Moss is getting them from.

They have a picture of them on what appears to be a TR4A engine but it has the vented valve cover and flat oil filler cap.

I'd ask Joe himself. He also drives a TR3 and is very friendly and helpfull.

Thanks everyone,

I'll call and ask. However, I think I'm stuck with what I have as my stock chrome valve cover has the active black oil filler cap and I don't believe I can change that.

I'll have to rely on the K&H chrome filters and braided fuel lines to put the finishing touches on my engine compartment.
