A young, nerdy kid was a senior in high school. He absolutely adored one young lady but could never work up the nerve to ask her on a date. That is, until about a week before senior prom when he realized that she did not have a date. He slowly worked up the courage to ask her to prom and was ecstatic when she agreed to go with him to the dance. He promised it would be a night she would never forget; everything was going to be perfect.

That weekend the boy realized that he had to get his s#$% together and make this date awesome. First thing Saturday morning, he went to rent a tuxedo. Since he was so late making plans as teenagers are prone to doing, there was a line out the front door to get fitted and pick out his tux. He waited patiently almost all morning. The line moved pretty slow, but he just waited in line until it was his turn.

After that, he went to reserve a limo and driver for the special night. Again, the other high school boys were already in a very long line to make reservations before he got there. He again patiently waited in the line for his turn.

The afternoon before Prom, the boy went to the florist to pick up a beautiful corsage for his lovely lady. Again, he arrived after a few dozen other boys buying corsages, so he had to wait in another long line. This one was about an hour long, but he patiently waited in line behind everyone else.

Finally (after waiting in line again to pick up his tuxedo), everything was set and the boy and young lady arrived at the dance. They waited in line for pictures to commemorate the event, but the line wasn't so long that it was a big deal.

The high school students then entered the dance when the boy asked the girl if she would like some refreshments. There was a table with food and drink. The nice lady said that she would enjoy some punch. The boy went to the refreshment table and what do you know?

There is no punch line.
