65MPH on the highway no windshield or lights, only 3 miles to the house. Hehehe what a ride

Will try and not be a stranger...

Looks good! I will be over with mine this weekend. Go ahead and pick up a gallon of Vermillion.

I actually use Omni base and clear coat Paint on this, went on really slick. Was only $350.00 to paint it (materials), as my neighbor had a friend that had a paint booth that he let us use free.

Vermillion huh? Long way to drive to paint a car China Red :p
Here is what a China Red MG looks like, Are you sure??

My wife is an Auburn AL Alumist, hence the Blue and Orange. Dont even get me started on how Auburn Tigers has performed this year.

Well working on the build up process right now, still need to yank the engine and throw on the rear main seal conversion kit.

Still have a 74 to take down to the frame, I did build a pressurized Soda Blaster (Sand Blaster) out of a 100 gal Propane tank, Will post a pic...

Ok here is something you can do with those old 100lb propane tanks, mine was a 1959 steel tank

Tank.jpg

First I took the valve off the top and filled it with water and dawn soap, let it stand for 30 days to allow for the propane molecules to leach out of the steel.

I then emptied it and cut the welds on the bottom ring stand. The I cut the bottom off so I had this neat bowl. I then flipped the whole thing upside down and welded the inverted bowl on top.

In progress pic, bowl not welded yet on top:

Well when I get my shed built out back, I will begin on project number 2 the 74.... Not enough, time in the day for everything I want to do!!!

I'm betting an extra large air tank for his compressor.

Actually, I went to the paint store, and looked at the color wheel... yep that looks good  It is bluer in the sunlight and dark blue on cloudy days (kinda freaky). Here is a cloudy day shot:

Yeah Yeah I know the rims are not painted yet :frown:

LOL the contraption is a pressurized sandblaster capable of stripping rust, paint etc.. from steel, aluminum, fiberglass etc.. using bicarbonate soda graduals. I have pressure tested it to 110psi so far no "BooM" So when I restore my rusted 74 Midget, it will come in handy.

Looking at an 80 gal 6hp tank as we speak!
Until then I use my neighbors, as he uses the sandblaster, it works out.

Nice looking car! Even better idea for great sandblaster!!

ROLL TIDE!!!

Car looks great!

Jeez, I just had the propane guy take a tank like that out of my yard! It has been here for a couple years. Good idea!

Since I live in Alabama, and the Tigers are not going to the playoffs, I say it "Roll Tide" Beat them Gators :p

Dont let my wife see this hehehehe...

BTW the Sand Blaster was really easy to make, and using Bicarbonated soda as the medium, I can use it on most things sand would pit and no silica poisoning!

Get it back! It only took me two weekends to weld and paint it after I let it set for 30 days full of water and dawn soap.
