Pulling to left

Was driving home yesterday after about 75-90 miles. When I hit brakes gradual at a stop light the left front seemed to lock up hard. It only did it one time and worked normal from then on. I had a good hold on the wheel so it did not make me pull hard into traffic. Was it a fluke or should I be checking for something?

How old are the brake soft hoses? They can collapse and cause all sorts of issues. If you don't know their age, replace all three of them. Cheap and easy.

One of the calipers possibly dragging?

Jim, will pull front wheel to see if the caliper is not releasing. Could dirt or some foreign particle get between pad and rotor and then maybe be ground down into dust and thus disappear?

How bad was the pull? If I nail the brakes on any of my cars there might be an initial pull one way or the other for just a moment. When I'm actually on them they pull straight though and release evenly.

Kurt.

A one time only brake pull from disk brakes can very often be dirt or small grit getting between the disk and the pad (if it pulled to the left, the affected brake would be on the right, as it was not braking as much). Yours sounds like something else.
If it happens again, I would investigate further.

Not a hard pull but it did have a shutter to it that went away as soon as I let of brakes and reapplied them. Only happened for a very short time.

Open it up and look, might be a bit of brake fluid even. Otherwise wait till it happens again.
