TR6 Modified TR6 drivability

I've seen a number of comments about drivability problems with the 150hp PI version of the TR6. Made me wonder if modified U.S. versions (higher compression, cam, lighter flywheel) have the same problem at lower RPM's??

I've had several people with "stock" TR6's drive my car and all say that it has more low end power than their stock version.

I'm running 10:1 cr, GP2 cam, triple carbs, headers, roller rockers, electric fan and an aluminum flywheel.

That's good to hear. I'm looking forward to some of those mods. I suppose some of the problems with the British TR6 might have been the Lucas injection itself. I also like the idea of triple carbs, it really looks great!

I don't know if you sent yours to Jeff Palya, but I know that he got a bit behind on his work, but is now catching up. A lot of cars down for the winter, I suppose.

My holdup was the triple intake, but that is due in by tomorrow, so he started micropolishing my carbs. Mine will be about 6-7 weeks, start to finish, so that's mot too bad.

Well, in February and March it's not too bad. In July it's 42 days of agony!!
 
Thanks Telly. They look even better with the K&N Chrome air filters mounted. I'll have pics in a couple of weeks with my set on the car.
 
Jeff sure does pretty work.

engine bay are Jeff's twin carbs.

And they function very well also.
