MGB-GT MGB/GT body shell weight

I'm doing a complete restoration of my 67 BGT and was wondering if anyone has an idea how much the completely stripped body tub would weigh?
Thanks Ken

My WAG would be 1400~1500 pounds, but never weigh'd one to be sure.

That seems a lot Doc, my Midget shell was about 300 lbs stripped - (ie no bonnet boot doors etc.) Two of use could carry it. Even if you double that for the GT and add 50 lb each for doors and 25 lb for bonnet and 75 lb for hatch you are still only to 800 lbs. I'm guessing closer to 500-600 lbs.

May be right, JP, but the unibody of the rear (firewall, back) would be a lot "beefier" on the GT's methinks. I went backwards, glass would be around 200/250 pounds, engine/gearbox another 350/400... seats, interior, bumpers, trim, paints and coatings about 250/300. GVW around 2200 for a GT soooo...

And again, it's just a WAG. <shrug>

Mebbe we can get Bob to weigh one next time he has one disassembled!
