TR4/4A Leaky heater valve

Do TRs have the same problem as MGBs in that their heater valves don't last very long or the leak and don't have a positive shutoff? I put this together for my MGB and it stopped the leaks and gave me more heat as well as better control over the valve. Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks, Rut

This looks like the same. I know a bunch of us TR6 owners replaced the original valve with it.

Rut,

Although the Autozone Web site says that this Factory Air PN 74648 valve https://www.autozone.com/cooling-he...valve/everco-heater-control-valve/135681_0_0/ does not fit my TR4, I believe that it is what has been installed since April 2011. My notes say that its manufacturer, which might be Factory Air or Ashley Hinton, recommends storing the vehicle with the valve in the open (hot) position for enhanced longevity.

Thanks guys, I didn't know if the TR folks had the same issues, but it looks like it's already been addressed. The valve that I've used looks very similar and I'll post the part number.
Rut
