Inside wipers?

We got caught in a downpour this evening whilst taking
the BE for an errand run.
Not too bad as long as we maintained 60mph.
We both laughed when I turned on the wipers. They work
ok on the outside but had no effect on the inside which was
covered in raindrops. Now I remember the reason I always kept
a towel in the old Sprite. We just turned the useless things
off. A towel goes in the BE tomorrow as standard equipment.
Sprites...it's always an adventure.

I can raise the top on my Miata in about six seconds from the driver's seat!

I'm ducking the slings and arrows...

I'm not sure rain-x would have enough wind to work on the inside.

I keep one of those synthetic chamois things in my car.

I used to keep a roll of paper towels in the Sprite just for that reason but on one trip the car got so wet, the roll of paper towels were soaked.
So now I keep a spare wiper blade under the seat and use it to clear the inside rain.

I'm going with a Sham Wow...
As far as sitting up like a man....
That's what I had to do. My head is higher than the windshield
to start with so I just had to slightly lift my butt in the seat to see OVER the windshield. My Cool Daddy Ray Bans
are a wrap around style so no goggles needed.
My Austin Healey cap got SOAKED!

I have a set of Sham Wows.... the only purpose they seem to serve me is a expensive shop wrag... I was very disappointed when I got them and my meijer shamy dried my car better.

And Art.... you must have rotator cuffs of steel to be able to raise the miata top while in the drivers seat... I was able to do it ONCE in a emergency situation

I dunno about the Sham Wow, but the synthetic chamois I have is great for drying things. It does not leave a streak free dry like my natural chamois, but it holds more water and is easier to dry. But I primarily use it to stop water ingress and dry off the inside of the car when water does get in.

I have a miniature "window squeegee" (about 4" wide)that came with a window-tint application kit that works great for the inside of the windscreen. Periodic swipes and all's well!!

Those Sham Wow things really do soak up the water well.
For the car drying I'm still old school. Real chamois.
I've now attached a couple of golf towels to the travel
bags I sling in the LBCs for travel. It's a sort of pear shaped shoulder bag in nylon. Great for basics like wet wipes, first
aide kit, wallet , glass case, CDs, flashlight,spare keys etc.
Golf towels have rings and snaps to attach to your bag so it's
easy to attach them to the strap. Great sweat rags. They's
purdy too. :wink:

Ya know, pharmaceutical companies used to give away all sorts of useful promotional junk (like golf towels). That all went out the window when people started assuming that free ink pens were raising the cost of prescription drugs. :crazy:

Rain-X (both sides of windshield) and a golf towel in my my street cars.

Rain-X on helmet faceshield for racing.
I use it on our mini-van too....I love the stuff.

It takes about 15 seconds to raise the top my NB Miata.......roll bar slows it down :wink:

Seems like it takes about 15 <span style="text-decoration: underline">minutes</span> in my "take-a-part" top on the MGB.
