Heater core Question

I need help, I did not take the photo I need. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif
On a TR6, when sitting in the car, looking forward, which is the short nipple on the heater core the top one or most forward one or is the long nipple suppose to be on top/forward?

Put mine back together shorter on top. Don't know if that is correct.
Why aren't you at work. Get to kick back and relax in Paris and now kick back at home. Should have called me I would have come over. My job was rescheduled.

Gosh, I didn't realise there was a difference, and I just removed the whole box! I have a photo here of it just after removal from the car:

Well Julian. Is the long nipple on top or is the short on top.

Julian
Just the man I was waiting for to answer. Thanks. I have been watching your other heater posts.
To me your photo looks like the longer one is on top or forward. Not the best angle for such a judgment, but that the best photo so far. I have two cars mine and a friends I am working on, and both heater cores are out right now.

It may not really make a difference as the hose's would appear to work.
I have time so thought I would ask.

On mine, the longer one is on top. The hose from the top one goes over the hose from the lower, hence the longer on top.

Thanks Guys
Longer nipple towards top/forward.

Norton, you are replacing the hoses now, aren't you? And the bulkhead connector and gasket?

Right you are mate. That's in plan. I only pulled the heater core as I had the engine and transmission out and am redoing the radiator thought might as well go whole hog.
