Fuel filter replacement

Is there an adequate replacement available at my local APS, or do I need to order a TR6 specific one?

<span style="font-size: 11pt"><span style="color: #003300">Depends on how "authentic" you want to be. I don't believe the TR6 ever had a fuel filter in the first place,so I don't know what TR6 specific would be. (I'm not counting the mesh thing inside the fuel pump.) The 6 has a 5/16" fuel line so you could hide a generic one somewhere aft of the engine bay where no one could see it. Or do what most owners do & put one just before the fuel pump.

Search "Fram G1". It's the see-through plastic with paper filter inside and is sold just about everywhere.

Thank you everyone. I shall go check my FLAPS.

2 things to keep in mind with that filter.
You will be able to see thru it and it will never appear completely full of gas. Don't let that worry you.
And, there is a good chance that the nipples on each end will bend slightly given enough time. I never had one break open, maybe because I changed them when I noticed it.
If I'm not mistaken the same filter with a metal housing is a Fram G2 or G3. That's what I use now.

On my British cars I put a coarse, mesh filter before the pump to catch scale that gets into the pickup tube. The filters I use are from the "bling" section of the local parts stores (chrome plated body with a see through glass cylinderical body). I locate a second filter (translucent plastic with a fine paper element) right before the carbs. Originallity? I am more interested in preventing debris from fouling the fuel pump and float valves.

The link below is for the type of pre-fiter I use.

and the linke below is to the VW type of disposable filter I use before the carbs.
