Door opening/closing mechanism of BN6

I have a strange noise in the door. I expect this to be caused by the door opening/closing mechanism. To identify the problem I have two questions:
* Is there anyone having a drawing that shows how the mechanism works. I did not find any useful information in the workshop manual.
* How can I access the mechanism?

Thanks in advance,

Volker

Hey Volker,
Been a few years since I worked on a BN6 I owned but as I recall you simply need to take off your door panels to get better access to what is referred to as the "remote control unit". This is the part your interior door handle attaches to at the hinge end of the door. This has a flat metal rod that attaches to your door latch assembly which is also attached to the door shell. Not a lot of room in there to move things around but with a light you should be able to see what is connected to what. All of this is in the top portion of the door shell. Moss Motors does have a line drawing of the assembly under "door and fittings", part # 12. Hopefully you can maybe find a loose connection that is causing the noise.
Good luck,
Mike

Mike,

thank you for the reply. I took a look in the Moss catalog and found some drawings. Unfortunately the mechanism is still not clear from the diagram. I even took off the door panels. Due to the small room it seems to be very difficult to find the reason of the strange noise. As I said, it can only be heard while driving :-( I will continue my investigation.
