Dimmer Switch Mounting

I believe I am missing a bracket on the floor board for mounting the Dimmer switch for the headlights. I think I can see where it would mount (from to the side wall of the floorboard), but there's nothing there.

I have the dimmer, just no way to mount it. Anyone have a picture of how it should mount? Is there in fact a bracket down there to hold it? Does it have a part number?

Only problem is, I don't believe the TR6 bracket will fit a pre-60K TR3A ... especially not with the original switch (which mounts through the bracket instead on top of it as shown).

Unfortunately, my book has 3 different brackets listed with no change points listed. They are 601991, 608811 and 609384. Since 609384 is shown in the link above as taking the (much) later surface-mount switch, it must be wrong; but I don't know whether you need 601991 or 608811. But I'm guessing it's 601991, since Revington shows 609384 as a supercession for 608811.

Given sufficient motivation, I might go pull the one off ol TS39781LO ... but it seems to take a lot of motivation these days /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif Probably better if you can turn one up closer to VA.

With Randall, Nope that Tr-6 bracket isn`t going to be the right one for your Tr-3. It is a pretty straight forward bracket {no complex angles or anything} If you can`t find one to purchase I will take a pic and measurements of mine in the morning and PM them to you. Maybe you can fab your own.

Here's a couple of pics. If you need from another angle let me know.

Edit: BTW, it doesn't mount on the floorboard, it mounts on the left side kick plate or whatever that's called. Inside the recessed section. You'll see two threaded weld nuts there.

The bracket shown in my pics above are from TS23xxx. It WILL mount to a post 60,000 car, as that is the body I'm using for the resto. I don't think there were any changes in the bracket between the early and late cars. Interestingly, TRF shows ONE switch for TR2-TR4, Moss shows a change at +60,000. That may have to do with the changover to Lucar connectors.

Ohhh, my bad.

Sorry about that.
