Would anyone have an old container of Connolly Hide Food?

I've been finding more and more online reports that the original Connolly Hide Food is no longer available, and the replacement Connolly Hide Care is a very different formulation, mostly lanolin.

Some folks say it's only the name that's changed, due to restrictions on the use of the term "food". Others say it's a lot more change than just the name.

I'd like to compare ingredients listed on the two products.

Thanks.
Tom M.

Sorry, I don't have one. But I think you'll find that the ingredients are not listed anyway. Just some ad-speak about "best leather conditioners and preservatives".

Thanks. I wondered about that. Would be good to know if Connolly's Hide Care today is the same as their Hide Food of yesteryear. There are years of excellent reviews of the Hide Food product, but lots of recent "not the same product or results" comments on the new product. Immediate as well as long-term effects are what counts.

Just heard from John Connolly of Connolly Brothers Leather in UK.

"Dear Sir
Thank you for your email
We do not make Hide Care cream (formerly known as Hide Food)anymore
The licensed supplier of this product is Hide Care as you mentioned in your email.
Regards
Jonathan Connolly"

On the Connolly Leather Australia website, the history page is very interesting. Note the bottom paragraph, which recommends the use of "CeeBee Hide Food".

https://www.connollyleather.com.au/history.htm

Interestingly, the suggestions on using "CeeBee Hide Food" are word for word the text in a 1975 Motorsports article on the Connolly history.

I'm thinking this non-Connolly "Connolly Hide Food/Care" may be very different from the original.

Tom- This is what I've been using and I find it adequate for my use.

Thanks Elliot. I've heard good things about that too. There are so many good reviews of the Connolly's, that I wondered what the secret is. Now it's not made by Connolly, and several reviews say it looks and smells different from the original.

Typical: when you finally find something that does what you want, and has a long history of praise, someone "improves" it.

Randall - CeeBee certainly would mean Connolly Brothers. That email I got from Jonathan Connolly came from "connollybros.co.uk".

I'm interested that Connolly no longer makes the product, so the current Connolly Hide Care name must be licensed to the new manufacturer.
