TR6 Boot lid thread plates loose in stiffener

I am refinishing the boot lid on my TR6 and noticed that the threaded plate for attaching the boot lid to the hinge is loose and rattling around inside the reinforcing stiffener. The factory must have used some sort of adhesive to keep the plate in position while allowing some movement for aligning the hinge to the boot lid. Can someone suggest a method for keeping the plates in place?

thanks in advance

When you tighten down the hinges they will stop moving. Just get them sung enough to move so you can line up the seams around the lid.
Don't get upset if it takes a few tries to get it right and some towels around the edges wouldn't hurt.
