BN1 Heater Assembly Options?

Just coming off a losing eBay bid on an original Smiths Heater Assembly for a BN1 and it got me wondering what other options are out there for someone interested in acquiring one - original or otherwise. It seems like many of the parts suppliers out there (Moss, etc.) have components for the system available but not necessarily the whole assembly. Cape International have all the individual components but they're very expensive. Would anyone know if there are any other options? It isn't something I need to buy immediately but I'd like to, someday, replace the irregular Smiths heater in my car with the real deal (or reasonable facsimile).

Thanks, Charlie.

TR2 or 3 have something similar and I had had the same thoughts as you with my last car (55 BN1). It had a Landrover heater in it again similar but with flaps on the front. It kept my feet warm in the winter in NZ. If you want originality keep looking at those auctions they do come up but at a price. Good luck and if you find something suitable let us all know.

Just as an FYI, there's another one on ebay right now for $499, looks restored. It's funny there was a completely trashed one on there about 6 months ago that sold for $750+, then there's been a couple completely restored ones recently in this $500 range. Funny.
