Wedge Bad luck to say it ? My TR7 has NEVER run better

After all the problems I have had, ie: blowing out the oil pressure switch last year, resulting in replacing the engine, I am soooooooo happy to tell all... This car is AWSOME. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif
It is just such a joy to drive now, and I have had it out everyday to work for over a week. and as I have mentioned in other posts, I drive all highway to work. The car seems to glide at 120 KPH, and still wants to take off if I am going 130 KPM, which I don't do too often. There is not second guessing when merging into an on ramp, or going into the passing lane. I guess by playing and adjusting things daily, eventually you will hit the jackpot.
BUT.. I have gotten to know this car, and heard about others, as to what could pop up trouble wise. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif So I am going to enjoy these "Triumph Moments" while I can.
While I have never driven any other Triumphs, to those who frown upon the 7, take one out.
Next year I will have my MGB out too... I can hardly wait. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/canpatriot.GIF

Sorry, but I had to share.

Shhhhhhhhhh!!!! Believe in tempting fate don't you? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Seriously though, congratulations!! It is a great feeling when your hard work pays off.

Awesome!!! I too have felt that way about mine, as it's gone about 2000 miles since waking up this spring, and is doing just fine. I drive it to work 3-4 times a week, and although there's no freeway involved there, I routinely take it on the freeway, where if you don't go at least 70 mph you get run over. Congrats on getting it going!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

I was feeling the same about my 79 DHC, never running better, joy to drive, chicks dig it, ... then the inevitable, the silly rubber carb mounts failed again (2nd time this year). Really getiing good at replacing them.

How do the rubber carb mounts fail?

Re: Bad luck to say it ? My TR7 has NEVER run be

Originally purchased and installed both mounts new from VB last fall. Before I ran through the first tank of gas this Spring, the rubber on the rear mount seperated cleanly from the manifold side metal backing plate. Called VB, they appoligized, and sent out two new units at no charge right away. Two tanks later the very same thing happened to the front mount. This time, VB wants them back for examination before they will do anything. Out of fairness to VB, they said they have multiple vendors for this peice, and want to make sure they send me someone elses peice. And they are willing to pay return freight for the failed units. Meanwhile, the TR& has once again become some what of a garage orniment for the time being. Anyone else have a similar problem?
