I have always admired the MG’s but honestly don’t know much at all about them. I’m looking at a 1980 MG MGB with 90k miles tomorrow. Is there anything I should be looking for during my inspection tomorrow? Am I getting in over my head with an MG with 90k miles? Not a lot of info to go off of but just looking for some quick tips. Thanks!

First - welcome to BCF!

Second: take a knowledgeable "old car" guy with you to check out the 1980.

Third: When you see "Rust free car!", that only means there's no extra charge for the rust.

(There are dozens of things to check, but not seeing the car it's tough to tell you specifics). If the car has been in Pennsylvania for years, it's likely got rust throughout - some obvious, some hidden.

Thanks Tom! I think it’s priced fairly but I’ll find out what the condition is tomorrow. Appreciate the reply!

90k is not unreasonable especially for the age - there will be stuff that needs to be new - anything rubber etc. etc.

The most important thing to remember is to buy the best one you can get. Mechanical is easy and cheap, body is not cheap and not always easy and interior likewise, easy but not cheap.

They are like buses (especially B's) there is always another coming. They made over half a million and almost 300k came to North America.
