1954 BN1 - Bump Rubber [shock stopper] wrong length??

Greetings all! I'm asking for a friend who is restoring a 1954 BN1 and is having a hard time finding the correct replacement part called a "bump rubber". Here's an example:

https://www.ahspares.co.uk/austin-healey/big-healey/Suspension-Front/BUMP-RUBBER-lower.aspx

According to him, the 54' had a unique size (length) of the front bump rubbers and every parts place he's checked all supply the wrong ones if your goal is a points car. It seems the ones available are all longer than the originals for a 54'.

Can anyone point me to where the correct part can be purchased?

Thanks in advance!

What kind of restoration are you doing? Driver of 100 point concours? I am not sure if it is correct or not. I have a 1955 100 which I restored last year and I used the ones from Moss. I get that you want to be as correct as you possibly can, but who is going to see it? Judges are not going to look that close. Only you will know if it is the correct one or not. Maybe Reid or somebody with more knowledge than I will answer.
Most people are going to look at the car overall and say, very nice restoration!

I agree with TodE , its a pretty standard piece that was used from the start as they all used essentially the same suspension. Better to spend the extra effort on panel fit if a high concours score is your goal. Kevin

Appreciate the replies. As I said, I'm just trying to help a friend. His customer would prefer the correct part if available so I figured this would be a good place to ask.

I would think if they are different, the concours standards should specify a different 'bump rubber' for early (?) BN1's. Just a SWAG.

Apparently this customer is an Engineer and is kinda anal about the replacement parts. One side is good so all they need is another one that's new or close to new. This isn't for a concourse car, but again, the customer is anal. That said, anyone know of any good places that fly under the radar (unlike Moss) that I might check with? All the normal Google searches have been checked.

PS. SWAG? What's that mean?

Change them both , they will be the same then ....
SWAG ...scientific wild ass guess

I am not sure, but I can't imagine that there are too many manufactures that make them. They prob. all come from one place. There just is not a high demand for them.

Did you try Healey Surgeons in Tacoma Park, Md. I've had pretty good luck with them on original parts.
