1953 Riley 2.5L Help, Oil Filter Location

Hello, I am assisting with reviving a 1953 Riley 2.5L engine. It's a total overhaul and those who disassembled it 80+ months ago did not take notes nor label much. My question is regarding the original equipment oil filter. I see photos of some 2.5L engines where it mounts to the right side of the engine block, but I also notice on either side of the upper housing there are two oil lines, both mounted with banjo bolts, one oil line routed toward the back of the engine and the other routed to the front. Are those original or an add on and what are they routed to? The attached illustration shows the internal oil galleries but no external oil lines. Any photos greatly appreciated! Thank you, Dave

I'm certainly no Riley expert, but if the car used an oil filter (I think it was an option on some models), it's on the air cleaner side of the engine.

I just bought a 54 Riley RME a couple weeks ago. It's good to know of another one in the states. The Riley RM club has all the information you will need, plus they reproduce a lot of parts that are long out of production.
